The Slave God

I swear once I thirsted for water
But I saw the lies of life abundantly
Of a dogma whose God was not free
He became a slave to first world terminology
Words imbued with greed like revival and blessing

In the infinite mirror
He forgot our future
Time became linear
For a hollow dream

That comfort was akin to grace
Because we believe we deserve
The lie which killed redemption
Mercy trumps perseverance
So live a vacant life abundantly

I swear I don't know what you mean
Who I see in staring amidst the stars
Is a dogma enslaved God devoid of mercy
He became just another victim of our terminology
A new definition of what we needed to feel free

Through the window eternal
Forever was forgotten for yesterday
Tomorrow surrendered for today
So by our own methods of comfort
For mere moments we might be
Some vacant version of happy

In the infinite mirror
He forgot our future
Time became linear
For a hollow dream
