The Dress Said YES!

Tell me what you believe
I'll merely show you mine
By the way I live it
Misunderstood
Unaccepted

I was born this way
Gay...
Wish my epitaph read
That I was also accepted
Such is the darkness
Inside a closet

 Now I'm but an echo
Survivor of the war inside
Embed by blinding flashes
Erupting flames of prejudice
Empowered by believe
But lost to love...

My wish...
To see equality
Possibly to find... Love
But I'm okay with being left behind
To witness the day of courage
When people unite as one
Forgetting prejudice
Destroying gossip
Ending hate

Saving rage
For child rapists
Committer of war crimes
Domestic violent fiends
For fools who deny
Love is equality

In earnest anticipation of,
J
