Elders said not to question
But I couldn’t help conjuring
A colony of souls as a commodity
Mocking the possibility of equality
Revised civil rights revolution
Rewrote the past from ghosts
Not to relive the future in today
But to remind us of the past
Both the good & the bad
Never forget them
Truth
Father said don’t question
Conform to church in silence
Listen to the promises & passages
Learning words like fairy tales
Jonah, Noah and water
Rewrote the past
Ghosts created a drive
Not to live in an equality dream
So each day I might desire to wake
My earth contains the good & bad
Persevere to keep hope alive
This is my equality dream
Living in waking hours
Never forget
Truth
